Feminist lobby

On 24 October 2012 hundreds of women and men descended on Westminster to call on their MPs to take urgent action to drive forward women’s equality at the Feminist Lobby of Parliament.

In this short film, one activist, Violet, talks about her experience of the day.

MPs and inspirational campaigners spoke at the rally event, including Rt Hon Yvette Cooper MP, Amber Rudd MP, Caroline Lucas MP, Dr Miranda Whitehead  and speakers from the End Violence Against Women Coalition, Object, Daycare Trust, Women for Refugee Women and Abortion Rights. The ‘Olympic Suffragettes’ took part, led by Dr Helen Pankhurst – the great granddaughter of Suffragette leader Emmeline Pankhurst.
