Reclaim the Night: We’re marching to oppose the culture of victim-blaming, and to reclaim the night for women.
The idea that women should feel responsible if they are attacked, that they should ‘take the necessary precautions’: not dressing ‘provocatively’, not going out alone at night, not talking to strangers, and so on, is an idea based entirely on backwards logic. Rape is the fault of the rapist, never of the person attacked!
Join us outside The University of Manchester Students’ Union at 6pm on Friday 24th Feb, and let’s reclaim the night! *Open to all genders*
We will also be holding an after party at the Barnes Wallis building (the end destination of the march), so come on down to listen to good folk, a beautiful women’s choir, and shouty pink-haired piano playing, and enjoy a good night from 8pm!
