We’re recruiting schools for sexism study

Posted on 06.02.17

UK Feminista and the National Union of Teachers are conducting research to assess the scale of sexism in schools and identify what support teachers need in order to tackle it. The study, which is being run in conjunction with the University of Warwick, is currently recruiting schools to take part.

Here’s how your school can take part in the study:

1) Host a 15 minute ‘survey session’ for students
Students are invited to share their experiences and views on gender inequality at school by completing a survey. The survey must be completed in a supervised environment, therefore it involves a teacher hosting a 15 minute ‘survey session’. All survey submissions are anonymous – so individual students and schools will not be identifiable in the research.

If you are interested in hosting a survey session at your school please email education@ukfeminista.org.uk

2) Teachers: complete an online survey
Teachers are invited to share their views and experiences of gender inequality at school in this online survey: https://www.snapsurveys.com/wh/s.asp?k=148191877037

All survey submissions are anonymous.

The deadline for hosting a survey session and completing the teachers’ survey is Tuesday 28th February 2017.
