UK Feminista is looking for a Freelance Student Workshop Facilitator who is passionate about ending sexism in schools to lead workshops on sexism and sexual harassment with Year 9 students in secondary schools in London. These workshops will form part of a wider programme of support UK Feminista is providing to those schools to combat sexism and sexual harassment.
Workshop plans and materials will be provided, and UK Feminista will provide additional information and support to the facilitator between workshops as required.
Location: London
Salary: £25 per hour
Hours: Each workshop will last up to 60 minutes and will take place at specific times selected by the schools within school hours, sometimes requiring a number of workshops with different form groups to be delivered back-to-back. There may sometimes be flexibility as to when these workshops are arranged so to suit the facilitator.
About you
– We are looking for a facilitator who will deliver the workshops with enthusiasm and passion, in line with UK Feminista’s organisational values.
– The facilitator will need to be able to deliver the workshop content (which may include challenging topics) confidently, establish rapport quickly and take a careful and considered approach in providing appropriate responses to questions from students.
– Experience of working with young people and / or workshop facilitation is required.
– Workshops will be supervised by a teacher however the facilitator will need an enhanced DBS certificate from within the last 3 years and either be registered with the DBS Update Service or be willing to undertake another enhanced DBS check.

UK Feminista is looking for people committed to feminism and women’s equality to join our volunteer board of directors. We are currently looking for two board members – a Treasurer and a General board member.
UK Feminista was founded in 2010 to support individuals and organisations to take action and create lasting change for equality between women and men. We are currently in an exciting period of change, with a new Acting Director at the helm, so we are looking for new perspectives and voices to help steer the organisation into the next chapter.
Our board members play a key role in supporting UK Feminista’s current areas of work: tackling sexism in schools and combatting commercial sexual exploitation.
Location: Mostly online (one in-person Away Day each year)
Salary: Unpaid
Time commitment: The role involves attending a minimum of four 90-minute online board meetings a year and an in-person annual Away Day in London, with reading and preparation beforehand. There are also opportunities to become involved with sub-committees and provide support to the organisation in other ways.
About you
We welcome applications from people from all backgrounds, and do not require previous board experience.
As a board member, you will:
– Oversee financial stability and planning, including support on fundraising
– Offer expertise and feedback about organisational strategy, structure and objectives
– Ensure good governance, including appropriate safeguarding, data protection and HR policies
– Act as an ambassador to the organisation and promote its objectives and programmes to relevant contacts
We are looking for a Treasurer and a General board member.
Treasurer – We are looking for a board member with financial expertise to act as the organisation’s Treasurer, in order to maintain effective governance of the organisation’s financial affairs. This role may include supporting to prepare financial reports, advising on how to carry out financial responsibilities, scrutiny of the annual accounts and undertaking some financial duties.
UK Feminista is a campaign group which is recognised as a charity for tax purposes but is run as a business limited by guarantee. No one on the board is personally liable.
